Pillow Concert
Blake Recital Hall

The Pillow Concert Series is a series of short concerts for all the family, traditionally in the Suzuki Music School of Westport's Blake Recital Room. Be sure to bring a pillow!

Enjoy this interactive, inter-disciplinary concert featuring Zara's innovative presentations, engaging personality, and enjoy this "engaging, fluent, mellifluous soloist.” Houston Chronicle

Flutist Zara Lawler has been a soloist with the Houston and Atlanta Symphonies, and was the assistant principal flute of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra for three years. Her work has expanded to include dance, theater and storytelling elements, with the innovative chamber groups Asterisk and Full Fathom, with the national touring ensemble Tales & Scales (where she performed over 200 shows a year, combining music, theater and dance, for children and family audiences), and in several collaborations with choreographer C. Neil Parsons. Lawler is a graduate of the Juilliard School.

“fascinating and engaging”
Steve Smith, The New York Times
