Victoria Markova, a graduate of Zaporozhe Music College in Ukraine and Saratov State Conservatory in Russia, has over thirty years of teaching and performing experience. She started her career as a pianist at Odessa Musical Theater as an accompanist and vocal coach, and after that moved to teaching piano and music theory at various colleges and music schools in Russia and Ukraine.
After arriving to US in 1989, Victoria was teaching piano at Brooklyn Music School, performing as a pianist and teaching in New York, Virginia, and now in Connecticut. She is currently on the board of Fairfield chapter of National Music Teacher Association as a recital and competition chair.
Victoria’s teaching philosophy is based on nurturing each individual musical talent, and at the same time providing each student with the solid piano technique in the best traditions of Russian piano school. This approach allows her students to truly enjoy their performance experience and to make music their lifelong passion.
