Nikhil first began his classical guitar studies at age seven with Michael McCallie. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance from the Eastman School of Music, and a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. His primary teachers at the collegiate level have been David Tanenbaum, Marc Teicholz, Nicholas Goluses, and Richard Savino. He has also taken lessons with David Russell and Zoran Dukić during his Master’s degree studies at San Francisco Conservatory. As a teacher, Nikhil has privately taught students from the beginning to pre-college levels, and has written program notes for the San Francisco Conservatory of Music orchestra. Nikhil plays a guitar by luthier Lubos Naprstek.
